You've downloaded a goal app before, right? Set OKRs, create milestones, build progress dashboards... but still didn't know what to actually do today. That's exactly why developer Jeff Algera built an app that takes the opposite approach.

TL;DR
Enter a goal AI generates step-by-step plan Shows 1 daily action Check-ins adapt the plan Streaks build the habit

What Is This?

Goals just launched on Product Hunt. The concept is radically simple: type in a goal, AI creates a realistic step-by-step plan, and each day you see just one action. No dashboard, no task management. Open the app, see what to do today, check it off. Done.

Creator Jeff Algera put it well: "You shouldn't need to be a project manager to go after what you want." While existing productivity apps pile on more things to manage, Goals eliminates the management entirely.

Type "Run a 5K in 3 months" and AI creates a 12-week plan. Weeks 1-2: walk 15 minutes daily. Weeks 3-4: jog/walk intervals... Each day, the app shows just "Jog/walk intervals, 20 minutes."

Free for up to 3 goals, $1.99/month after that. Built with Claude Code, interestingly.

What's Actually Different?

The difference from existing goal/habit apps is clear. Tools like Todoist or Notion are powerful, but breaking goals into tasks is still on you. Habitica gamifies motivation but doesn't plan for you.

A Product Hunt user nailed it: "This turns long planning sessions into 'do this today,' which is what actually drives results."

Limitations are clear too. Vague goals like "get healthier" force AI to make assumptions. Whether AI course-corrects as goals shift over time needs more testing. Post-launch bugs were reported too — one user experienced crashes when completing a goal.

How to Get Started

  1. Download the app (iOS/Android)
Head to makegoals.app. No sign-up required to start.
  2. Enter one specific goal
"Run a 5K in 3 months" works far better than "get healthier." Deadlines help AI create more realistic plans.
  3. 1 minute daily: open, see, check
The app shows today's one action. Complete it, rate it with stars. This data helps AI adjust your next steps.
  4. Build your streak
Consecutive check-ins build a visual streak. Consistency is the core of habit formation, and Goals implements this with minimal friction.

Use It Together

Goals lets you share any goal via link. Invite friends, family, or teammates to check in alongside you and stay accountable. Solo goals die on day three — shared ones stick.
